Christine Kinealy

Acclaimed author and Director of Ireland’s Great Hunger Institute located at Quinnipiac College will be speaking at Talbot Hall located on the campus of University of Southern Maine. Her topic will be Charity and The Great Hunger. Christine has published extensively on the impact of the Great Irish Famine and has lectured on the relationship between poverty and famine in India, Spain,Canada, France, Finland and New Zealand. She has also spoken to invited audiences in the British Parliament and in the U.S.Congress.

She will also be doing a book signing on the evening of May 5th at 7:00 PM in the library of the Maine Irish Heritage Center.

Free and open to the public Talbot Auditorium, Luther Bonney Hall, USM Campus.

This is a joint project between the Maine Irish Heritage Center and the Food Studies Program of USM.
