Dúchas Lecture Series

lectrureMIHC’s Dúchas (meaning “Heritage” in the Irish language) Lectures are programs that cover topics of historical or cultural interest with an Irish or Irish-American focus. Dúchas talks have ranged from the films of John Ford to the killing of an Irish-emigrant Portland police officer during Prohibition to the sinking of the Titanic after her launch from Belfast. These programs are scheduled quarterly, to coincide with the four great feasts of the traditional Celtic calendar: Imbolc, Beltaine, Lughnasa and Samhain.
